These pages offer a description of the musical instruments built by Synton Electronics of the Netherlands.
Now defunct, Synton was one of the leading manufacturers in vocoders.
Synton produced 4 models and also some custom build vocoders.
The 221 was the first one and the SPX 216 was the last produced one
The successor of the SPX216 with new features was only build as prototype. Syntovox 232 never
came out because the market was changed and there was at that moment no demand for a new vocoder.
The Elektor vocoder was based at the 221 and the 222 vocoder.
